PrimeOCR Version 5.1 Released
Woodinville, WA – Making further strides for production OCR, PrimeOCR, version 5.1 provides enhanced PDF processing, support for x64 operating systems and now runs under Hyper-V.
PrimeOCR version 5.1 enhancements include:
Enhanced PDF Input – As the PDF format expands over time PrimeOCR continues to broaden its capability of opening more different styles and different format of PDF files.
Retain PDF Hyperlinks – When converting image only PDFs to searchable PDFs PrimeOCR is able to retain hyperlinked text from the sourced document to the newly generated searchable output PDF file. Bookmarks are another feature of the incoming PDF that can be retained.
Add PDF Metadata – While processing PDF files various fields of metadata can be inserted into the resulting PDF file including Author, Description, etc.
Improved Autorotation for Asian Languages – Continuing the support of a large segment of CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) OCR processing, PrimeOCR has increased the reliability and accuracy of determining the correction orientation of CJK documents.
Support of x64 OS – PrimeOCR is now supported under the latest Microsoft Windows x64 operating systems.
Running under Hyper-V – Expanding its capability to run under various virtual machine platforms, PrimeOCR is now supported to run under Hyper-V along with already having the capability to run under VMWare.
Improved OCR Accuracy through “Voting” Technology
Developed for the production OCR marketplace, PrimeOCR is an “omnifont” Windows™ based software OCR engine and Application Programming Interface (API) toolkit that uses a combination of proprietary “Voting” algorithms and technology licensed from the best retail OCR vendors.
PrimeOCR is able to reduce OCR errors by an average of 65-82% over the best conventional OCR software products while providing much cleaner data by implementing “Voting” technology. Since manual error correction can account for over 50% of an imaging system cost, by lowering error rates, PrimeOCR can reduce annual operating costs by 35%.
Designed around a fault tolerant architecture, PrimeOCR provides the production OCR marketplace with a reliable OCR software solution that generates cleaner results than conventional OCR software.
PrimeOCR has won a number of awards, including two “Product of the Year” awards from Imaging Magazine, and a “Top 10 of AIIM.”
