Major Release of PrimeOCR Version 5.0 Increases Recognition Accuracy of Production OCR Software

Woodinville, WA – Prime Recognition has released a major upgrade of its production OCR software, PrimeOCR, and continues to provide superb recognition accuracy by integrating new OCR engines.  Version 5.0 brings increased accuracy to recognition results, support for Windows 7, email notifications and continued improvements to PDF processing.

New features of PrimeOCR 5.0 include:

Improved Recognition Accuracy – PrimeOCR continues to increase OCR accuracy by modifying a number of the internal voting OCR engines.  By using today’s best of class OCR engines and implementing fast and statistical voting technology, PrimeOCR improves optical character recognition accuracy versus traditional OCR engines.

Windows 7 Support – Updates have been included with the latest version of PrimeOCR to support Microsoft’s latest operating systems.

Email/Texting Notifications – A complete new layer of email/texting notifications has been added to the PrimeOCR Job Server.  Included with the upgrade are several options to send automated email/texting notifications providing immediate job status, job completion, current or completed job statistics, exceptions and processing pulse (current server load).

PDF Reading Improvements – Further enhancement to the PDF input module have been made to improve reading images from PDF files.

Job Server Updates – The Job Server user interface has been updated to provide additional job and image processing options and details, including predicted job completion time.

Improved OCR Accuracy through “Voting” Technology

Developed for the production OCR marketplace, PrimeOCR is an “omnifont” Windows™ based software OCR engine and Application Programming Interface (API) toolkit that uses a combination of proprietary “Voting” algorithms and technology licensed from the best retail OCR vendors.

PrimeOCR is able to reduce OCR errors by an average of 65-82% over the best conventional OCR software products while providing much cleaner data by implementing “Voting” technology.  Since manual error correction can account for over 50% of an imaging system cost, by lowering error rates, PrimeOCR can reduce annual operating costs by 35%.

Designed around a fault tolerant architecture, PrimeOCR provides the production OCR marketplace with a reliable OCR software solution that generates cleaner results than conventional OCR software.

PrimeOCR has won a number of awards, including two “Product of the Year” awards from Imaging Magazine, and a “Top 10 of AIIM.”
